week 7 viral infection

We have had a manic week!:)Just when I thought things were going rather good. TUesday night Zac had a difficult night very restless and strange behaviour but I put it down to being over stimulated with the day spent at Howletts. Wednesday we all went to Kent LIfe Museum it was a very gray day, I noticed that Zac was not interested in eating and was pulling away from my boob which was strange as he is normally MR Magget...by Wednesday pm he only ate very little and was very sleepy...I was busy with Mr R but eventually daddy arrived home at 9ish and I shared my concernes...he took baby's temperature and we found it to be a shokking 38.9%C so I phoned NHS Direct. I felt so awful as to be honest I did not even think to take his temperature. Everyone keeps saying mother'smilk is the best + he has just been on 6 weeks antibiotics I really did not want to thin he could be unwell. The nurse on the other line was AMAZINGLY HELPFUL she noted my given symptoms and asked me to put the phone to Zac's mouth and nose area so she can hear his breething. From then on she only said " Mam an ambulnce is on his way please do not leave you baby alone and make sure he is breething ok" I was just so shocked that I did not think straight. IT was so scary. Two ambulances arrived (one was leaving their shift one was starting the shift) the guys were very good quickly undressed him and propped him up...gave him Calpol (which I had from R) and wet towel over his head..he looked so poorley by this stage I just wanted to slap myself for missreading his illness to tiredness. THe guys said they did not think we are to wait home lets go to hospital. THey attached little one to all the machinery in the ambulance and off we were. At Hospital everyone at A&E was around us (that made me feel even worse as a mum) and they were ever so good. After various tests etc many doctors popped their heads around and said he wasn;t looking good. We then went up to the Panda unit where a very lovely lady dr was amazing with Zac and told me he was suffering with a vira infection which will last between 7-10 days. Around 2am we were home and thankful to be alive....he is now a little bit better but clearly afected by his illness. I CAN NOT TELL HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS LITTLE GORGEOUS ANGEL!! Thank you God for you perfect Gift to us help us to be able to look after him the best way possible.

My two angels in the morning they just love each other.
